East Africa’s largest crocodile farm, Mamba village is impressive. It is situated 10 kilometers from Mombasa city.

An awesome farm for crocodiles. It seats on an eco-friendly quarry concentrating on the farming and conservation of one of the oldest and interesting animals – African crocodiles.

The village is just a day trip from the Northern coast of Mombasa.

Each section of the estate offers a unique experience, and the most popular is the crocodile farm where these aquatic reptiles are displayed.

A video presentation introduces you to many reptile species and the valuable roles they play in the ecosystems of the world.

Other crocodile facts include the longevity of the species on earth, bite force and average life span giving you a greater appreciation of the said animals.

Your guide will enlighten you about the crocodile life cycle and behavior while you view live crocodiles of every size, from hatchlings to fully-grown adults.

Some crocodile displays are labeled with a description of age, length and weight.

The most predictable event at the farm is the daily crocodile feeding where the giants fight for fresh meat.

Mombasa Mamba Village Tour

Tour departs daily from the nearby hotels either in the morning or the afternoon and takes about 3 hours. Watch the “Big Daddy” measuring more than 5 meters long as he pulls himself out of the pool to bask on the nearby rocks.

The firm has a feeding time schedule every day at 5 pm and it is incredible to see this experience as the crocodiles jump up few metres from their pool to grab a bite of meat.

Also available is the Mamba Disco open daily and is a nice experience! The farm has a nice view of beautiful botanical gardens.

 The crocodile is a strange, prehistoric creature and the display here varies from the smallest hatchlings to a 5 metres long “Big Daddy” beast, who is reputedly 100 years old.

Mombasa Mamba Village also features a serpentarium with a collection of snakes, a botanical garden and an aquarium. Look for displays of aquatic plants and orchids.
