Introduction:

You are picked up from your hotel in time for either lunch or dinner cruise.

Transfer to the Tamarind Restaurant where you be led to the pier.

You will be welcomed on board the Dhow in readiness for sail. Once all guests are comfortable on board, the sail begins.

The Meals:

The lunch time cruise departs from the Tamarind jetty at.1.00 pm, cruises gently up the Tudor creek to a secluded spot where the Dhow moors.

Lunch consists of a delicious Tamarind seafood platter with a selection of Kenya’s wonderful seafood.

You may partake a prime Kenyan fillet steak followed by fresh tropical fruit-salad and rounded off with Kenyan coffee.

The Dhow returns to the jetty at 3.00 pm and you are then returned to your hotel.

The Dinner Cruise commences at 6.30 pm, begins with a welcome “Dawa” cocktail as the Dhow sails towards Fort Jesus.

The twinkling lights of Mombasa and the starlit skies provide idyllic surroundings for a delicious seafood dinner meticulously prepared in Swahili style on the deck in front of the guests.

Resident DJ on board offers a wide choice of dance music, from the latest hits to the golden oldies as the Dhow gently glides back to the Tamarind Jetty by 10.30 pm.

The Dhow experience:

Traditionally used for trade on the Indian Ocean, the Arab dhow has been a long-standing presence on the East African coastal waters.

Now you can enjoy an evening of sailing, dining and romantically dancing along the coastline aboard one of these historic sailing vessels.

Built in 1977, the Nawalilkher, an authentic Swahili dhow, is the largest of its type on the Mombasa coast, measuring more than 75 feet long.

Your cruise begins at the Tamarind Pier, where you board this magnificent wooden boat, and you feel as if you are stepping back in time.

The activity:

A courteous waiter in traditional garb greets you warmly and escorts you to a private table.

Sip on a house cocktail made with vodka, lime, honey, sugar and crushed ice.

If you prefer, you may also order your favorite non-alcoholic beverage or the cocktail without the alcohol.

A four-course meal of mouth-watering edible delights is served, such as grilled lobster, fish, steak and much more!

When your belly is full, the waiter brings you a delicious cup of Arabica coffee or tea.

You may also request your favorite cocktail and then dance with your partner or relax while the dhow sails back to the pier.

Awaiting there will be our representative who will drive you back to your overnight beach hotel.
